How to load and re-load your Flame Genie

1. Fill the inner burn chamber of your Flame Genie fire pit with premium hardwood pellets up to the bottom of the interior fill-line indicator holes. Do not over-fill.
2. Evenly distribute your premium hardwood pellets around the interior of the Flame Genie burn chamber ensuring they do not cover the fill-line indicator holes.
3. Apply pellet gel or lighter fluid in a circular motion working from the center of the pellets to the perimeter wall. Carefully light the pellets in several locations. The fire will quickly build, providing near-immediate enjoyment.
4. Periodically scatter additional pellets over the surface of the ignited Flame Genie to maintain burning. Pellets should be added while flames are visible. Do not smother the fire by adding too many pellets at one time.

How it works

1. Air enters through openings in the pedestal base and rises through the grate providing combustion air for the wood pellets.
2. Air enters the gravitational heating chamber through the lower outer cylinder holes.
3. The air inside the gravitational heating chamber is heated, expands, and rises
4. A stream of heated air exits from each upper hole on the inner cylinder
5. Wood pellets burn, producing flames, heat, and combustible gases
6. A bright smokeless ring of flames is produced when the rising combustible gases meet the hot fresh air exiting the upper interior ring of holes.
7. The hot combustible gases not burned lower down continue to rise and burn with bright smokeless flames.
8. The ash pan catches ash and embers which fall through the grate and shields underlying materials from heat.

Heat & Paint

For all the fire pits on the market, there is not a paint that can withstand the heat of a burning fire inside. With the black galvanized version, it is normal to experience rust as well as some paint peeling, flaking or bubbling.

While this will not affect the function or performance of the unit, here is what we recommend to help it last a bit longer:

• Store your Flame Genie out of the weather when you are not using it (ideally inside a storage tote)
• Use a can of high temp black spray paint to cover any areas where the paint burns off. This will help protect any exposed steel.
